Basically anything Class III that fires!

<deleted text>

There are some nice Uzi's, Mac's and Stens out there that are easy to trick up, quiet down and shoot cheap ammo through that aren't in the price ranges above.

Also - fires legally - im sure there are some MG out there that are not registered..

In the link I posted I dont know enough about the uzis, macs or stens to see what there prices were..

There are also some AR-15 lowers out there that can easily be converted to fully auto. A guy I know did federal time for converting semi-auto's to full auto's. You can also convert Ruger's 10/22 to fully auto, not really too hard. Mossberg also used to make a semi-auto shotgun that would shoot full auto after some pieces, umm, wore out. Not that I have any first hand knowledge of anything I have written, just what I have been told.

It's not called class 3 anymore. It's just NFA weapons now. Class 3 is a C&R license I think now.

I'm a class 1 gunsmith and I work on a lot of machine guns. Mostly M-14's and BAR's. There are forms you will have to fill out and submit to transport them out of state like if you are going to a machine gun shoot at knob creek or sending it off to someone like me to work on. It's no big deal at all. Believe me the ATF will explain it to you when your application gets approved. They love all the questions I keep asking them because I'm the only one in this area that messes with them anymore. They always have to call another office to find the answers but they do find them and are always very nice about it. The ATF is not your enemy. They're just people doing a job.

When you get it, I suggest buying the heaviest safe you can get to keep it in. When I have them here I go to extremes in security but it's for good reason. Besides it being a huge investment for whatever customer that owns it I really do not want the local sheriffs department having to try tracking it down if it gets stolen. That would be scary. They have never said a word to me about openly carrying firearms around my farm here. Or even if I'm out on my horse riding. I'm never unarmed. I'm perfectly legal doing it but most people get hassled. I have good reason to carry openly.

I hope you don't live in Ca, NJ, NY or Chicago. Good luck if you do.

Yes. LEGALLY is the key (at least to me). I don't want a NFA violation against me. Those BATFE boys don't play. I wouldn't even consider one without paying for the tax stamp via the BATFE.

There are plenty out there that can be converted, but I don't want to have anything to do with them. You'd be better off robbing a convenience store at gunpoint than having a NFA violation, according to some of the stuff I've been reading on the 'net.

Bottom line, if it doesn't come off a reputable website, by a reputable dealer, with all the proper paperwork...I don't want it.

Funny, that's what I've been told as well. Like yourself, no first hand experience, and I think that anyone who would try to break the law would be a fool.

I stand corrected about the price. Honestly never looked. That's what I'd call "bending you over".

"bending you over" is right... considering if you had bought one before 1986 it was not that much more than a 'regular' firearm of the same type from what I have read online..

For those that dont know- in 1986 there was a law passed that said no new machine guns can be mfg except for LEO and Military use.. SO if you really want a MG after '86 you are limited to what is on hand and then another law take place.. The law of supply and demand.. hehe

Thankfully, I don't get too many idiots requesting illegal modifications. If they do I forward the requests straight to the ATF. In one case, I forwarded all the emails t the FBI also. That nut wanted me to make him a short barreled m14 and also wanted me to do a 2 pound trigger job knowing full well my rules on that. A friend of mine checked him out and we found out he was a leader of a white supremacist group in another state also. That was nice to know. The web is full of people like him unfortunately.
These days, since a big web forum owner scammed the crap out of me and is continuing to spread vicious lies about me and another good company since last year, I am extremely picky about who I do work for and what I will do. He's only spreading that garbage because I would not do any more work for him after I discovered exactly what he is all about. I don't care though. The people that believe the lies about me on the net are not the types of people I want to do business with anyway. He's taking out the trash for me in a way and doing me a favor now while he is trashing his own reputation.

Do be very careful buying one online like was already said. This business is full of idiots and crooks.

Just to prove how stupid some class 3 dealers are, we had one here in Lubbock that was also selling drugs out of his shop. Now, he's in jail, his range and shop are owned by the sheriffs department and they also have all the machine guns he had. I don't know how long he got but it was a very long time.

I didn't now about the 1986 law. I really wanted couple of real M-16's back in the early 80's. The prices weren't that bad, but at the time still out of my range. After seeing the prices now I wish I had gotten them. BTW even though I don't have anything like that there is nothing like the peace of mind of having a good gunsafe.
