Betst Power Equipment has a offer on a 71" tiller, buy it now for 1150. My tractor is 41 hp, 34 pto, the tiller needs 35. I am wondering if it could be adapted to work. I have the pat's easy change, so machine down the left and right attach points, and perhaps bushings on the center pin.
Am I not seeing something?

Just change the Class 2 pins for Class 1 pins. Easy to do. May need to put a spacer on the top link to take out slop, but probably not.

Darn close on power.

Lots more mass to spin.

In ideal to average soil.. probably do fine.. in bad conditions.. might have to crawl..

From What I see the only main difference between a king kutter class 1 and this class 2 is the mounts. the KK is also rated at 35 HP.
There is a chance i could get this tiller for 800-1000 dollars. You think I should hold off and get a King Kutter built for a class 1? Down size to a 5' tiller?

i'm leaning to pass and get the 5' one so the HP is better suited- still working on the damaged one at the local farm store.

The width is what will make the most difference.. the wider it is.. the more surface are you are grinding up.. thus the more hp required. I don't doubt the mahcine will do it.. etc.. at the sacrifice of speed.. etc.

Tines could be removed on the sides to accommodate the horsepower requirements.:D

Perhaps though at the expense of depth of cut.. Depending on the design of the model.. ( I don't have a tiller like that to compair to.. so can't say.. etc ) that will limit you to how far the axle can drop with no tines on the end. if you aren't making deep cuts.. it's not much of a sacrifice.

Been thinking on it, and it would be a great deal, but I think i'm pushing too many limits. While it would be nice to get it, the economy is effecting my pay at this time, so I'm going to wait.
The KK series offers more tines per tiller, and that is something i'm looking at. While a 5' wouldn't cover my tracks entirely, it's HP ratings are right in the middle of my tractor numbers. I still am watching the broken one at the farm store, preparing my case, and going to wait until mid November to offer him 1000.00 for it. It would take him several hundred to repair anyway.
I'll take him a print of a TSC stores web price, the est cost of repairs, and if the economy is still down, he might be desperate for a bit of cash.
Thank you for making the decision more balanced.

I think your right to pass. Looks like a made in China product. If there was info from actual owners on performance, or if it was widely distributed by some of the Chinese tractor dealers on this site, that would help. KK has many satisfied owners.
Google IGN180, you'll find RuiHong Enterprises.
