Thank you Tractor, I will call them. Big Tex called me back this morning, they have been trying all morning to get someone at TYM to answer the phone without any success.

Went and picked up our berco snowblower this morning from soon to be former TYM dealer. They had a large TYM tractor last winter they sold for snow removal that had the forward/reverse switch go out shortly after purchase. Had to drive it in reverse 4 miles back to the shop. (good thing it was close) they gave the customer an equivelant LS tractor and then waited for the part from TYM....they waited, and waited and waited. Took 7 months to get that part. Now the tractor is on the lot for sale, as is their remaining TYM stock. They quote "love LS" Placed an order for 20 tractors last Tuesday, they will be delivered next Tuesday and they get their parts in every week with no back order issues.

He said several times, "I don't think there is anything wrong with the tym/branson tractor, you just can't get parts for them".

Unfortunately there is the real possiblity that if it takes 7 months to get the parts my dad won't be here anymore.

I am reaching out to my attorney this afternoon to pursue the option 2manyrocks lists above.

I called Jordan, left a message and they called back, said they could not find the part in their system so would have to call TYM. Also mentioned that since the "merger" parts have been call very problematic. All the consolidation of warehouses, staff, etc has made things a mess. Very had to get anyone on the phone.

Heard back from the lawyer, (yeah, working Christmas weekend...he is pretty dedicated...he does not lose many cases) going to provide him all the documentation and get things started. Having now learned that TYM/Branson does not stock parts in the US, nor have a way to deliver them in a realistic timeframe we are going to be seeking a full refund so we can go in a different direction. Every dealer I have talked to (all the big guys recommended to me here) have commented on the increasing disarray with TYM/Branson in the US since the merger in staff, parts, and communication. I really have no confidence in them any longer.

LS seems to have a very good reputation for parts availability and building a decent tractor at a similar price point. Hopefully the 7 months we have wasted on this will not result in a price increase so significant that we can't get the same level of tractor for similar $. If we have to, we can drop down to the 42hp version of theirs, but it would be nice to stay with the 47hp model if we can. I will keep updating as we move this forward.

I seriously considered LS when I bought my 4820... And it really only came down to the desire to not have an ECM controlled engine that can go into limp. I prefer the LS blue

Yah, and my big issue with that is the difficulty in getting a resolution in many of their cases. I like old tractors that run, or don't, none of this sensor BS. Pretty sure our old Farmalls would have stopped running decades ago if they had a sensor for every damn thing.

Hmmm, well we reviewed our options again this afternoon and it is hard to find all the features and capabilities of a 49hp tractor without the computers other than the 494 or 4820...if the dang thing would just work.
