Broke my leg 1st of December so finally able to get out today in the 70 degree weather to play around. On the tractor for about an hour and suddenly the RPMs drop from 2200 down to about 1400 for a second then back up to 2,200. Stays at 2200 for a few seconds and then back down about 1400 . Each time they drop down the check engine light flashes on and then off. I do hear a slight buzzing so wondering if it is the regen? Had an issue with it regen right before I broke my leg and the dealer supposedly fixed that. Sorry so sloppy. On my phone with the tractor outside. Has been doing this for about 15 minutes

I left it running and idle doing this for probably 20 to 30 minutes. It finally just shut itself off. I went over restarted it then it immediately started revving up and down again. I have shut it off and will call my dealer Monday morning.

Make sure that the battery is good and fully charged... Unhook the negative terminal... Wait 5 to 10 minutes then hook it back up. This will reset the ECM.
Low battery voltage can cause logic lock and a require a reset.

Thank you hillwood!

Just got in from trying that. Negative terminal off for about 10-12 minutes. Started it up. Ran it in low RPMs for just a minute and then moved it up to 2200. Within a couple of seconds the CEL came on and it dropped to 1400, but then immediately back up. I let it run another 5-10 minutes at 2200 and it didn't do it again. Maybe that was it! Raining so will be a few days before I will take it out and run it again. Fingers crossed!

Thanks Sawworcs - aaaannnddd guess what??

OK - Update. Started it up and still dropping RPMs. Went by dealer at lunch today with video of the dash showing what it is doing. Sent me out to the shop to talk to one of the mechanics. He immediately said "need to replace fuel filter. sounds like you have water in it."

So I have new fuel filter in the car for when I get home.

He also said, on the new stuff, that disconnecting the negative terminal no longer works due to the diodes being used now. He's an older guy, so I thought it was funny when he said "That's old school.".

Anyway - Thank you both! Fingers crossed!

My CK30hst is a 2004 with none of the new fancy computer stuff. So if you were going "old school", that would definitely be a fuel problem. Your symptoms are very similar when I had fuel jell in the Winter. Other fuel problems could be something plugging the outlet fitting of the tank, a few members had their fuel tank cap not allow air into the tank, and some had the lift pump start to fail. I hope the filter does the trick or time to figure out why your not getting good fuel flow from the tank to the IP.

The guy talks about diodes. That makes no sense to me. We do global resets all the time on the new vehicles. Ask him about logic lock.
