I've mowed without it before and found it to be real nice not having that FEL out there. I have a real nasty toothbar on mine and have to be careful swinging that thing around. Does a good number on the wife's trees and assorted vegitation. Not to mention close up near the buildings. And the tractor seems to work better shaving off a few extra pounds.
