Today I did some brush cutting and after a couple hours my tractor would stall out on me. It seemed to be doing it going up a slight slope. The hand throttle seemed to be off. I would bump up the throttle but the rpms would stay the same or actually drop. A couple of times it stalled out completely and a couple of times I would hurry and disengage the pto and it would stay running but barely, until it seemed the engine caught up with the throttle. This wasn't very thick brush so I don't know what the deal is. Fuel? Maybe someone can understand what I'm trying to describe.

I would start by checking for some sort of fuel obstruction:filter (junk in tank) or a feed pump failure.

Could it be that you were in high range? Does it happen in low range?

I was in low range the whole time.

I usually keep the air filter clean, but I did have to stop the tractor once and let cool off due to the temperature started to rise. The radiator screen was clogged with dust and dirt. Good point with the air filter, I'll check that tomorrow.

I have a similar issue with my CK2510. After moving dirt for a while, my tractor will stall when pushing into the dirt pile, not every time but more often than I think it should. I am wondering if it's related to the hydraulic system getting too hot?

Handtools, that has happened to me before as well. How would the fluid getting too hot be related though?

I really don't know if it's related to the fluid getting too hot, I was just thinking out loud to see if someone had any ideas. I do think it shouldn't do it though.

Replaced my fuel filter this evening, and chain dragged a horse pasture. It seemed to run like normal and did not stall on me like it did yesterday, twice, trying to do the same thing. Hopefully that fixed my problem. Thanks everyone for the replies and advice!
