CK25 Leaking Hydraulic Fluid?

Everything went fine on the cooler replacement without me having to mess around with the hoses. Here is a picture of the new unit installed before I put everything back together:



I thought that I might have to loosen the hoses where they are attached to the fittings in the tractor floor, but I found, as was suggested, that they just flared out enough for me to be able to put the banjo bolts back and catch the threads square.

Once I put everything back, I fired it up and no leaks. I ended up putting a entire gallon of the Wal-Mart fluid in to get back to the line on the dipstick. I then warmed it up - 25F here today, I've learned my lesson - no cold starts, drove around the property and found no leaks. Yeah!

That's good the old hoses fit the new cooler and you didn't have to buy new ones. If you did need to turn the hoses at the bottom, they are a normal hose end, flared, that attach to the tapered nipple fitting mounted in that engine compartment floor. So it's just loosen a half turn or so, reposition, and tighten. That cooler does look like it will hold up better than the old style. When you said you added a gallon of fluid to the line on the dipstick, I keep mine at or close to the top line of the stick so there is always that little reserve to the bottom line.

Thanks for posting your end results. I'll probably have to do the same thing one of these days but my rubber mounted old style is still holding up for now. (-25F, and I thought is was cold here at 9F)
