I would take this as a no. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

My dealer sells KingHitter Post Drivers and says you need a minimum of a 40HP tractor to operate it. I suspect the CK20 is too small for Post Drivers.

You have my permission to go and buy a bigger tractor.

What type of posts are you trying to drive?

You can use your FEL to push metal "T" posts into the ground, even in clay soils (easier when the soil is a little moist).

If you are talking about wooden posts, then for small tractors I think you are limited to a PHD on the rear end. The only wooden post drivers I've seen are big units designed for larger tractors.

I was just wondering if anyone has done this or not with the CK20. Most of the Post Drivers have more to do with GPM in Hydraulic pressure then Engine HP I thought. I was originally thinking about going with the Shaver HD8. The ratings stated that if you were above 5GPM for the tractor pressure you were ok. Since the CK20 has a 7 GPM, hence the reason I posted the question.

In any regards I have decided not to go with the driver and stick with the digger/auger style. The posts I intend to put into the ground 7'ft 6" half round posts.

You are right, the drivers require a certain GPM to work well. The other consideration is "who's in charge?". It will take a 40 hp tractor to have enough weight to prevent it from being thrown around by the post driver.

What brand is your post hole digger? It looks like a perfect fit for the CK20. I have very rocky ground so I'm a little leery about investing in the PHD if there is any hint at marginal performance.

On the other hand if I sharpened it up real good it could make drilling holes for ice fishing mighty quick. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif Maybe next winter /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Thanks, but I like to call it my dog house. We all end up in one at one time or another! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif Gerard

My PHD is a GREENLINE MFG. FM5500 with 9" auger. Works great. The CK20 handles it with ease. Gerard
