Hey Fellas, It's been a while since I posted so How y'all been?

I have a question. Four or five months ago I posted asking about auger attachments and basically, we had all agreed that due to pricing on these things, it would just be better to rent one when I got a job to use it. Well, I've come across some 3 pt hitch/ pto driven augers that are somewhat affordable.

Most of what I found back then were all hydraulic and cost well over 2-3k $'s. Prices like that are out of the question for me at this time even though I feel the hydraulics would probably be far more powerful based on my itty bitty 21hp CK20. I am 99.5% satisfied with my CK20 but my questions are these:

Do y'all think my tractor will push this thing with ease? Here is the product:

It doesn't appear to be very power intensive so I'm thinking it'll be just fine. I'd like some opinions for you who have run these types of attachments before though.

My other question was about the maker, Leinbach. Anyone ever heard of Leinbach? Is it a decent brand name? Quality goods? Or is it junk just waiting to be left in the yard?

I've been in a position to get a lot of work from fencing guys in this area but they aren't willing to rent the auger and still pay my hourly price. I charge $35 an hour which isn't excessive here but they just wont agree to it. I also don't have the funds readily available to rent it myself and then wait on payment for the work.

Anyway, what do y'all think of these things?

Can you get 1/2 the money up front and the balance when the job is done? That would get you the cash to rent the auger.

I have a Leinbach and am happy with it. I use it on a LB1914 tractor. The only problems that I have had is wearing out the auger teeth on it. Have added extra teeth and it works fine in my clay soil.

I run a phd on a CK25. Though mine is a bushhog brand. However, from my experience, they don't require a lot of horsepower. I'm sure though that this is somewhat dependent on soil conditions. With mine, I seldom have to rev above idle, and I've gone through sandstone, large tree roots, and a 100 amp power line. Tractore barely even grunted. So I'd say you are safe to use one with the CK20. If the Leinbach is priced right, I'd say get it.

Thanks for all of the input guys.

The gear box on the digger is not that big. I figured the tractor could handle it but I wanted to ask to see if anyone had a negative experience with Leinbach or the CK20/25 combo of the two. It seems like this may be a good unit to get. Thanks again.
