CK20 Joystick Loose and Broken

I was operating my CK20 today to try and move some ice so my goats could walk freely on a path. Pain in the *** goats try to get under the tractor and jump on it when I am trying to work, so I made a dumb mistake of using the front end loader to scare the goats by raising and lowering really fast to make a loud clunking noise to scare them away. It worked, I scared them away, but then when I went back to moving the ice, my joystick was loose and dead.

I took it apart, and found one of 3 white plastic balls cracked and sitting in the chamber. I was able to get it back on, put it back together, and get the tractor working again, but it's just a bandaid and I am going to need to replace the entire unit I think.

Does anyone have suggestions, know what it's called, or know the part I need?

I broke mine when I had my CK 20 doing something dumber than that. You can look up my post on it if you like. I took mine to the dealer and they fixed it while I waited. Upgraded with a better part than the plastic balls. If I remember it was only about $65.00 installed.

There is a repair kit called a cymantic kit that has the new parts you need and now those nylon balls are steel. If you had it apart once then installing the rebuild kit will be easy for you. Your dealer will know exactly what kit this is or you can look it up from one of the dealer sites.

I just went to NAPA and bought some ball ends, ground flat the broken pivot balls, drilled and threaded the cinematic inserts, added some shims in the swivel head and back going for less than $10, with steel pivot balls.

If you look at my post of 09-27-2011, I have some pics on changing out the 3 balls.
If the same as my CK35 then you need to reinstall the balls at an angle, see Pics.

Welcome. I just hope I never require those instructions. On a positive note, I fired up my DK today to remove downed branches from the recent ice storm (after chain-sawing them into bucket-size pieces). All the while I fantasized about how great it would be to have a grapple.
