Tractor
Kubota M7060 Kioti CK35
Right on time. Ben Parson of Eton Tractors in Chatsworth GA delivered it last night about 7:45. He'd put on the tooth bar and rear work light and had everything lubed up and ready to go.

He took his time and went over everything on the tractor. Answered a couple questions for me, went over all my paperwork, and asked if everything looked OK and I was happy before he ever even asked for a penny. Actually, it's the first time I'd ever met him. When I went to his place to test out the tractors his mechanic helped me. Our deal to buy was over the phone. I really appreciate doing business like that!

I also made a new friend. Scott (Kiotikid on this forum) of Bobcat of Boston (and Kioti tractors) Is a great guy and has been helping me offline answering a my questions and giving me advice and info. about Kioti. If I were within 500 miles I'd most definitely have bought my tractor from him. Thanks Scott, for your time. (A reply to this thread could be a great opportunity for a shameless plug to let local folks know how to get hold of you ;) We southern NASCAR fans are expert at shameless plugs :D )

So this morning, my son (4 years old) and I, familiarized ourselves with the tractor by digging out and cleaning up a path between my driveway and back yard fence. Tractor worked great, I'm impressed. Wish I'd have taken some before photos of the area - Had a bad hump on the driveway side from some boulders I couldn't dig out by hand. Hump was bad enough I almost couldn't get my mower through there. Only took a few minutes with the tractor, but hey, it was something to do. I was able to take out two fence boards with a bucket tooth :). My boy thinks the tractor is the greatest thing since chocolate milk. He wanted to know why it wasn't yellow like his (tonka) tractors.

Real nice tractor there Dave. Looks like it did a good job of that "little" chore. These machines can make jobs that are BIG by hand seem tiny, can't they? It's the best toy I've ever owned.

Congratulations, Welcome to the PACK!! Have fun, be safe.
Who made the tooth bar? I am still looking for one for my CK30, presently leaning towards the Markham. The Long bar is a nice one.. but almost $100.00 more from the prices I have been quoted locally.

I think your garage is a little to small for your tractor. I'll come down and take it off your hands for free. :D

Congrats on your new toy. Ain't it funny how things are done in minutes when it couldn't have been done by hard or it would have taken days to do?

For example. I was diggin a section of my yard with a shovel to get the rocks out. Been working on this section for weeks, a few hours here and there. I get my tractor and the complete section is done in 20 mins.

Dang tractors are a back and time saver for sure!! Unless I endup in a Townhome or Condo, I'll never be without one again.

BTW, give your boy a few weeks... He'll be asking for Orange toys now, instead of asking why your toy isn't yellow. :)

Kioti makes Orange toys hehehehe
As long as you want a CK25 or DK65S
Enjoy your new tractor!

IXLR8 - "Who made the tooth bar?"... Ya know... I don't know . Just asked the dealer how much extra he'd charge to install a tooth bar. Was $350 installed. I'll try to find out who made it.

CrabJoe - "I think your garage is a little too small for your tractor..." You're looking at the wife's garage (the one behind the tractor in pic 1). Mine is the one down the slope beside the truck. It's got 8' garage doors and is 30' deep, tractor will fit just fine :). Tractor's gonna move to Kentucky in a couple months anyways. I grew up in Middletown MD and miss bushels of steamed crabs in the summertime. Been down here in GA for about 15 years and although the southerners make some seriously good Bar-b-que and fried catfish, they don't know squat about cookin' seafood.

Dave,

Being that you're from Middletown, MD, you should come up and hit the Barn Dance over there on June 7th. One of the guys on the Moo Board has it every year.

I'm going to miss it because I already had plans to meet the Good Folks from this board over at Wallace Tractor and Equipment.

Board was started by a bunch of folks from here in MD, but all have been welcomed. We talk, crabbin, fishin and do a lot of BSing. So if you can stand some heat, come on over.

Congratulations on a great new toy and on your positive dealer experience. I think Gittyup hit it on the head - makes big jobs small.

The other thing I'm finding is there are also a lot of relatively little things that would take two people or some piece of rental equipment, but they quickly become a one man / one tractor job when you have it sitting there in the garage, ready to go.

Congrats on the new arrival and Welcome to the Pack!

Keep up with the maintenance and that little tractor will last a long time. Post pictures of some projects as you go. It's tough to remember to take pictures when your so excited about getting on the tractor.

When is the backhoe coming? :D

Not to be a downer, and no presumptions made just wondering, in the safety section there are bad stories about children riding on tractors...

I'm with you on this one, Dave. A responsible and safe parent letting their child ride with them on a tractor is far safer than any trip with them on the highways. Perhaps we should just put them in a bubble and tube feed them sterilized liquid food stuff.

Dave,
First and foremost, welcome to the pack:)
Secondly, I agree with everything you said about the kids.
I moved to upper Montgomery County so that my kids could experience the outdoors life on my dad's farm.
My kids were driving JD lawn tractors, watching calves being born, feeding cattle and plain running the farm at 10.
Did they ocassionally get the lump on the head/knee/???, sure. Didn't appear to affect them in the long run though.
They are both grown now (33 and 30), but whenever we get together, they talk about how much fun and the things they learned on that farm.
All kids should have the opportunity to partake of the farm experience.

Congrats.

Lets see some pictures, not sure why, but there's always an appeal to seeing someone's new machine, even though you can go to Kioti site and see pictures of same exact model, it's always fun to see someone else's acquisition.

Psssst... Joel... Check out the #1 post in this thread. :D

I'll have to get some workin' photos, can't drive the tractor & take pics at the same time. Wife tells me I'm terrible at multi-tasking... but then I think she doesn't concentrate on the task-at-hand like I do, I guess that's why we compliment one another. :)

Real nice looking tractor. I really like the Kiotis, they are built real strong, I've had no issues (knock on wood) with mine. I've put 20 hours on it and now have 172 hours total. Has done all i've asked, will be a good machine for me for many years to come.

Good luck and many safe hours.
