I bought a 2008 CK 30 new and from the first there was a clicking and the glow plug light would flash rapidly then gradually slow and finally the light would stay on till the plugs got hot, then the light would go off and then it would start. I knew this was not normal as I previously owned a CK 25, but I got used to the clicking and the wait. However this week it was colder than normal and it would not stop clicking and heat the plugs. Today I replaced the glow plug solenoid and no more clicking. The light came on and then went off, starter turned the engine over but it did not start. Checked the fuses and the 25 amp engine stop fuse was burned out. Put a new fuse in and still no start, checked the new fuse and it was fried. I assume that the engine stop solenoid is bad.
THE FIX
I unplugged the fuel solenoid and moved the shutoff lever forward and the engine still would not start. After I removed the solenoid from the engine and put in a new fuse it fired up. I then carefully avoided the fan pulled the lever to the rear and shut down the engine.
