Id like to make my own plow . just wondering can i use regular steel or does it need to be special grade material

The frame itself is just regular steel. The chisel points are hardened. You can buy them by the piece maybe $10-20 each last time I bought some. If you hit up some farm auctions you could probably buy an old chisel plow cheaper than you could build one. I bought a 19' chisel plow and cut it in half. Made an 11' unit I use and an 8' unit I sold for what I paid for the whole thing. There is a ton of farm equipment out there that is too small for modern commercial farmers to use and yet too big for the compact tractor owner. If you are handy with the welder it can be bought cheap and adapted.
