A gunbelt and a vest on a 6'2" guy crammed into a crown vic is no picnic for 8-10 hours a day either! Suited up with boots etc I weigh 227. In a birthday suit, 210! What a relief it is to get onto jeans and a T-shirt and get some seat time. Definitely theraputic for me!

Boy ain't that the truth, my son had three sets of cuffs, baton/ASP, extra magazines, flashlight, keys, taser, pepper spray, tactical knife, radio and back up to his backup. Then he had his vest with a G27 in it and Lord knows what all else; don't see how he could stand it.

My G27 or G23 with cuffs, pepper spray and one mag pouch was about all I could handle. When I retired I quit wearing belts and just drop a .38 in my pocket if I don't forget.

Congrats on your retirement TripleR. Belt-wise, I wish it was similar to 30 years ago. Too much stuff now! I don't know how a thin person can do it today. With a 35" waist I have just enough room to buckle my 'keepers' and that's about it. Like your son, I'm maxed out. Had my second hernia a couple years back, got both sides screened up now. My Doc and I figured it was the belt. Oh well, what are you gonna do.

Nice tractor in your avatar! How long have you had it? I like your Johnson quote too!

Thanks, I have been retired almost four years now and wish I would have sooner.

You and my son are the same size and didn't have any spare room on his belt and was always trying to find a good balance.

My son was already a bit banged up from jumping out of aircraft with the 82nd, so after a few years on the force quit this year while he could still get around; seems like there is no longer any respect for the police or fear of consequence anymore and everyone wants to run or fight.

Parole Officers don't have to do all that stuff, so I made it through 32 years.

Thanks for your service and hang in there.
