Chipper hookup to tractor hydraulics

Weird, most chippers sold now have built in hydraulics that run from an onboard pump, there is no need to connect anything but the PTO shaft to the tractor.

Thanks for the info.
Guess I will need 2 males with external threads.
A or B series for a Chinese Tractor?

I found the connectors and adapters I needed. My chipper has metric threads!
Now, to witch remote do I connect the chipper?
Witch chipper hose goes where and how do I operate it?
Thanks tecnicalturnip, rustyiron, grsthegreatn and kennyd for your help.

Glad you found metric adapters.

I see your chipper has a detented spool valve and flow control valve for feed rate. Probably a safety lever, too.

Connect the IN and OUT on your chipper to your detented AUX valve on your tractor, and make sure that you set the lever for the right direction flow. You are going to have to figure out which is the IN and OUT on your tractor's AUX valve work ports.

On my tractor, I use one female and one male QD so I don't connect my hoses backwards.

Does the quick connect on far right low dump into the sump? If so you can use that as a return, it should have less restriction.

I don't know what that connector close to the pto shaft does.
How do I figure out which is the IN and OUT on your tractor's AUX valve ports.
The hydraulics only works the feeder, so what happens if I get it wrong?

I suspect your feeder drum is powered by a reversible motor, so your spool valve has 3 positions. It should be marked with the IN and OUT (Tank) ports. You want to make sure your AUX supplies fluid to the IN, and the tank fitting returns via the other work port on you AUX valve.

You will probably have to run an open hose into a bucket to determine which way the fluid flows and with what lever position on your AUX valve.

If you get it backwards and you pressurize the tank port of your chipper valve instead of the IN port, you can damage the valve if pressure goes over 500psi or so.

Check your chipper valve for port IDs.
