Here is a website selling Chinese lawn tractors. It sure looks like my DLT3000 without the Craftsman stickers on it. You can get 12 to a 20' container in case you are interested. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Maybe they ship so many because they don't hold together.

My major concern with buying from China is that we're probably financing their military build up so they can go to war with us.

Hey Joe,

Then may we all assume that you do not spend your money's at WalMart's as well? /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Just in case you don't shop at WalMart's, you may want to go into one on the weekends and see all of the Loyal to American Products, that are buying the Chinese Products, as fast as they can spend their Money's.

It's a loosing proposition, to try and just buy American Made Products, especially when our Manufacturer's are moving their Plants and investing their money's in China and any other country that can provide inexpensive competitive products.

I can't speak for the rest, but I don't!

I'm afraid with this alone, I won't be part of the solution [irronically, if you want to talk within the limits of fair trade, I'm actually all for a global economy], but until there is a solution or complete colapse of domestic goods, I won't be part of the problem. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Actually, I have been seen at various "SuperStores" if I need something when no where else is open, but even then, I double check the country of origin and quality thereof [even if it is domestic] before considering any purchase.

If I buy Tom's boots, he can buy Dick's bluejeans, who then can afford Harry's television set, and Harry can buy my tractors [no I don't have a tractor company, all completely hypothetical].

Anyway, there a plenty of good domestic mowers yet, and any of them I'm betting have more long term value than a poorly constucted domestic or whatever imports there are now. And if you have quality construction, it can warrant a few repairs every 10 years, then we can have domestic manufacturing and the politicians can have their "service economy" to boot. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

There also happens to be at least one domestic manufacturer of small to midsized tractors who [despite importing a couple components] has me very impressed. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Since we are on the topic of walfart!

Good reading here:

I personally can't stand the store. It is based on price and price alone.

We can all blame the CEO's or "the man" for the wonderful outsourcing here. If people like contributing to a communist country that is up to them; that is American and our giving right.

The company I work for has over 200K people worldwide and about half in USA & we are outsourcing BIG TIME to countries like Poland, India and Puerto Rico. It is a never- ending battles and every week we get updates on what these plants ship, deadlines met, $$$$, overhead, people etc. So far it is sad that we continue to do this when they shipping of items is 79% LOWER then our CT based plant….

Next time you fly any commercial aircraft, some of these parts are designed and produced overseas and were our USA jobs… That is a fact too.

Gotta love NBC. They hit it on the head with “Fleecing of America”

Hey Chad,

I got the impression from Durbob's post, that the Chinese Mower, looked just like a Sears Mower.

When we talk about domestic made mowers, who knows, who is makeing the mower units and who is buying the units from China or some other country and then putting their companies Logo on the Mower.

Same Thing with Tractors, There is so much name switching on tractors now, that it is almost impossible for the consumer to know where anything is being made any longer. I heard someone talking about his John Deere engine had China as the country of origin.

I commend you for your Loyalty to America, but I just don't see that type of Loyalty in the mass of people's here any longer. What I see now, is mass loyalty to their Money and getting as much as they can get with it.

Whether you like WalMart's or not, they have proven their strategy to work, over the years, "Sell it for Less". Lovem or Hatem, No one can deny that their strategy has proven itself.

And when it comes to Tractors , Mowers, and other equipments, I have not seen anybody that can beat China's prices. That's why people buy Chinese Products, and as long as they continue to sell for less, I don't see any end in site.

Like it or not, "The AllMighty Dollar Rules". Sad but True.

Thanks! Your interpretations are right, and I am in the minority; but I've never regreted [and usually save money] buying the higher quality item (I don't know a thing about imported [even "domestic" named imported] tractors, so my experience in this case applies more to tools, lawnmowers and the like).

And even if I find someday that my savings no longer exist; I still have no desire to buy products from "low-labor" sources as long as there is a trade deficit. Yes, the very keyboard I'm typing on is from one of those sources, but given any option, be it a tractor or the pen I sign the loan papers with, I'll take good 'ol USA. If everyone did, I think so much more could be made cheap enough right here, there just wouldn't be such questions in the first place. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif
