Can anyone suggest a good site for Chevy Truck Owners. When I search I end up finding corporate sites which are not as helpful as sites like TBN. I have an 05 Silverado 1500 Gas. There are some good diesel sites as well but again not really what I'm looking for. Can anyone help??

I've never tried the chevy thing, but I've gone to the Ford Truck Enthusiast site several times. My son has an Isuzu PUP with the diesel in it. There's even a discussion board for those! His truck just turned 21 years old, by the way. He says he's going to take it out drinking now that it is of legal age. I don't know where that boy gets his sense of humor from .

Good luck with the Chevy though. If there is a particular problem you're having an issue with, let's have it. Some of us tractor guys might just know the answer.

My favorite for my truck is www.chevytalk.org (.com will get you to the same place). Put your mouse over the year or type of vehicle to take a shortcut to the forum for that one.

I've been using that forum for years.

I don't have any particular issue right now other than when I go into the auto 4wd mode I get a front end noise growl as if I had a bad roller bearing. When I talked with the service manager at our local dealer he said it was "normal". I just enjoy TBN so much & thought that if there was a similar site that you could recommend for a Chevy Truck owner, I'd appreciate it. Thanks!

That would be pickuptruck.com. You'll notice some of our names their too. Small world it seems.

Whenever I had trouble with my Chevy van the guys at Chevytalk.com were always able to answer my questions within a matter of minutes. There is a very knowledgeable group over there.

I know what you mean about enjoying discussion forums. I've been to several and most of them are full of good people anxious to help.

As for the noise from the front end when in four wheel drive, I'd agree with the mechanic at the Chevy dealership. It's bound to make some gear noise with the front end pulling. My son has a Tahoe with 4wd and every noise it makes drives him crazy. I keep telling him to turn the radio up. That's what I do with my Ford. Can't hear a thing.

It's not normal. My 98 shares the same drivetrain elements and is absolutely silent except for the thunk when the 4wd engages. A bigger thunk when shifting to low range. You have 4 CV joints on the front axles, a differential, and then two u-joints on the driveline that are all suspect as they should all be silent. This ain't a 50s willys jeep.
