My rear tires are filled with calcium chloride. I can't check the tire pressure or add air because whenever I apply the gauge to the air pressure stem, the liquid squirts out. The pressure gauge does not read anything. I parked the tractor so the stem is at the top, but it didn't help. Can anyone tell me how to check the pressure and add air?

jack on the rear of the tractor to take pressure off of the tires, then try again at 12 o'clock

By all means, jack it up to remove weight from the tires. If the stem is at the top and liquid still squirts out you may have too much liquid in your tires. I believe they should be about 3/4 full, not clear full.

Have air flowing before and while hooking the chuck up. Briefly let up to catch a quick reading. If correct, pull air valve off and then run air through air chuck to clean it out.

On another thread about this I read a warning that said when you jack the tire just take a good amount of weight off. Don't lift it off the ground. The weight in a hanging tire could cause the bead to break.

I would should have a tube in the tire if you load them.

With the stem at the top of the tire I use a stick type gauge. I will get a little "spray" at first (I think the calcium chloride is in the valve stem). I then can take the pressure. With a compressor that already has air in the tank I am able to add air (the pressure in the tank and the stem at the top I do not get backflow).

One could add an inline pressure regulator and set the regulator at the desired pressure.

Put valve at 12:00 position.
Before measuring pressure, give the valve a short blast of pressurized air to clear the valve and stem of liquid, so that liquid isn’t present to enter the gauge.

I have a pressure guage intened to check filled tires.. Refered to as a "wet" guage...

When done checking, run it under warm water in the sink and move the stem in and out to assure it is clean..

Make sure you have a tire gauge rated for fluid filled tires, valve stem at top, and jacking up helps a lot. A shot of air and check pressure.

On fluid especially calcium change your valve core every year or 2 as a pm. They corrode and start leaking. A lot of tire repairs can be avoided with simply changing the core out and make sure you are getting cores for fluid filled tires.
