pulled my dip stick out of my hydro trans...on oil on the stick. inserted it a gain and removed...now over full? How does one check the fluid level correctly?
You did it right. Someone mentioned that the dip stick is air tight and can collect air as the hst runs.hence, the first pull can show nothing on the stick. Reinserting it will give you the correct reading.
I had this same question a while back. It finally made sense to me but I had to go out and look at my machine for it to sink in.
The dip stick is in a tube on the outside of the trans. It does not go right into the gear case. So when you operate the machine the oil in the tube can exit out the bottom of the tube when you go down hill. Because air is now in the tube and the dip stick has an o-ring seal the tube will not refill with oil until you pull the stick. Like when you hold your finger over the end of a straw and put it in water. The water does not fill the straw until you take your finger away.
This problem really had me scratching my head for a while. I have a B26 and the tube is not easy to see. Every time I checked my trans oil it was low and every time I put the dip stick back in the level was fine. I thank the folks on this site for their patience because it took some splaining to get me to.
understand.

I am guessing your B7510 uses the same tube. So pull the stick and reinsert then check the level.
well, here is what I did...got a oil dip stick from a car, got a small "C" clamp, set the "C" clamp at the stop depth of the drip stick. So I now have a unsealed device to stick into the hole. This resulted in the same fluid level as pullen the Kubota dip stick and re-inserting it, then looking at the level.
