We are still running a 1970 147 in the family.... and it must have 4,000
hr's on it .... 100 hrs/ yr. x 40 years.
No engine work has ever been done ! ....although it is getting tired now with an occasional rod knock. The tranny was replaced once in about 30 years ago...
but not since. Several sets of starter / generator brushes... and that's it !
Still wearing original rear tires..... hard as a rock though.

I have a 73 149 with blower and you are not missing anything as far as lift height that is about all you will get the 149 does have a limiter right by your right foot but not sure on the 169.
