Cheapest way to add rear remotes?

/ Cheapest way to add rear remotes? #11
I have lurked the for a long time soaking in information and I just pulled the trigger on a new CK35 HST with fel and am not so patently waiting for some decent weather so it can be delivered to me. With all the snow and cold we have been having I don't want my baby getting a salt bath on way to me. So I wait........, anyhow I am going to want to add a set of rear remotes for a brush hog this summer and wondering what the cheapest way to do it is, I don't have funds right now to do this but would like to know what is the best way to go about this. I would be fine tapping off the loader lines and adding a A/B switch. Someone has to have done this already.

I had the dealer install triple remotes on my Mahindra 5525 when I bought it new in 2008. His design. Cost: $750. The parts were about $500.

It's not difficult. Use the PB (power beyond) port on the FEL control valve. One hose from the PB port to the rear remote valve cluster input port. A second hose from the valve cluster output port to a tee in the low pressure return line (you have to add the tee). Finally, in my case, six short lengths of hose from the valve cluster to the six quick disconnects. It helps if you can find a local shop that can fabricate the hydraulic hoses you need at a reasonable price.

Good luck.

Hopefully, not a hijack.

What am I looking at here? What is a "spool"? If the OP wants "one" RR, why is there three valves?

So what else is needed: hoses, connectors for the valve end, quick disconnect connectors for the RR end (which are?) and a place to tie into the OEM hydraulic system (which is where exactly?). Did I miss anything?

Thanks,

One spool on the valve will operate one hyd circuit. T-N-T would use two spools and another spool for other things.

I just priced the factory kit and it may be the cheapest option at around $350 for one remote by the time figure all the fittings and such thtat you would need to make it all work with after market parts.

Was expecting double what the dealer quoted. As for the SB66 snowblower though that was a lot more than I hoped.

In the 2nd pic, what are the QD connectors typically used? I *assume* these are or will be disconnectable when or if the implement falls or becomes disconnected or accidently left connected after dismounting the implement?

Thanks,

OK, so spool is just another name for a valve or controller.

Is it typical to add 3 RR at the same time if they're added afterwards? I would imagine that the differiental cost between 1, 2 or 3 would be pretty minimal (i.e. more expansive valve setup (like you showed earlier) plus a few more hoses and connectors.

Thanks,

I like that setup! I've got a ck20 and was planning on installing the factor rear remote this spring - but one of my beefs was that it only has one remote, I'd like to have more for future implements. I might look into doing something like that myself. Have to see if I can find a good place to mount a valve cluster. Hmmm...

Thanks,

They are Pioneer QDs that have pintle style valves. I replaced two of them with the JD type QDs that have ball style valves since several of my implements had this type QD. I like the JD type since they don't dribble as much as the Pioneer's when no hoses are connected.

It's a nice setup if you have flat top fenders. However, my only complaint is that I'd like another 3/4 to 1" separation between the quick disconnects so I can get a better grip on the QD slide couplers when attaching/removing hydraulic hoses. Otherwise, no problems in about 6 years of use.
