Oil & Fuel Cheapest Hydraulic Fluid for Flushing

What is the cheapest hydraulic fluid for flushing water out of hydraulic system?

Diesel fuel is what I use. As long as you get a good percentage of it it you're good, if not it'll mix with the hydro fluid.

I have used VP oil and Sinopec oils before. If your machine has wet clutches or wet brakes I would only use the manufacturers oil though. $200 in oil for flushing is nothing vs $200 in oil and $1000 in parts.

The ones I flushed didnt have any wet clutches or brakes. How is the water getting in?

A friend was helping me put fluid in, but he grabbed a bucket that was left in the rain with the top off.

It is a wet brake system.
