have you noticed, many times its cheaper to buy 12 quarts of oil, than to buy a 12 quart case? i have noticed this for the last several years at WM in this area, plus one of the synthetic oils that has an ad on TBN is exactly the same way. one quart cost less than $7, but a 12 quart case will cost you $7.4? a quart.

Me too. The gallon jug the oil comes in makes a great container for the old oil I drain out.

It doesn't happen often around here, but occasionally the local auto shop puts oil on sale where it is cheaper by the quart. I usually notice that right after I go to costco and buy a case of gallons but rarely notice it just before. Unfortunately the cost of the fuel to make a special trip just to pick up the "leader" item overweighs the savings of the lower priced unit.
