Cheap chop saw motor brushes source

Have a cheap Chinese chop saw (from a box store) and have been using it to cut bricks. Burned the brushes on one side. Can't find the paper work or a model number on the saw. Was wondering if I could find replacement if I took a brush in to a motor report shop - or if I'll get tossed for buying junk. Suggestions for a source?

Exactly the info I was seeking. Unfortunately, all the local hardware stores are gone around here. Still, it might be worth a trip to the nearest (20 minutes each way).

if you can find one slightly larger than you need it can be ground to fit the holder.

The brushes on my 'junk' Chinese grinder finally packed up after 10 years of pounding and abuse. (I think I put in the supplied spare set of brushes about 5 years ago.). Anyway, look in the yellow pages for 'Power tool repairs.' I discovered one existed about 5 miles away and they had brushes to fit for about $6.

I want to say that you can find replacement brushes for name brands at big box stores. as noted just grind them to fit the holders if not an exact fit.

grind is a confusing use a file or piece of emery paper to size them

Success! After a stop at two box stores and a Rural King, I finally found a commercial motor repair shop. A very nice service person spent 10 minutes trying to find a pair that would work. I did have to sand them down to size, but they worked great.

One of the box stores was were I purchased the saw. They didn't have a clue where I might find brushes. In any case, thanks for all the suggests.

Back to cutting bricks.
