Has anyone bought the cheap injectors and had good luck with them? I am really tempted to try them but not sure if I want to risk engine damage if they are junk. This is for a Shibuara / perkins engine. Some are less than $40 for a set of 3 on ebay.

I am not sure that I was using the tester right. I need to find the manual and make another video.I ordered a cheap pop tester to test them. The gauge doesn't move on any of them and I am not sure if the gauge is defective or all the injectors are that bad. Here is why it ran so bad.
I Thought 2 of the original injectors were still good but they don't pop correctly. They do pop at 1800psi but spray till the pressure drops quite a bit or just keep spraying if holding more pressure on the lever. 2 of the Chinese injectors pop correctly but not till about 2400 psi. The 3rd is about 2600 psi and just dribbles fuel out when it hits that pressure unless more force is applied to the lever, then it sprays kind like the original (bad) injectors. The inj that’s pictured avg. $65.00 each + 4.00 for the inlet and return gskts.
To operate the pop tester,
Put enough fluid(fuel) above the filter..
Screw the knob IN until it stops..
Operate the handle slowly until u feel resistance.. then push down on the handle rapidly about 5x.. that will clear any air that’s trapped in the line.. now do it again while watching the spray pattern.. should be a nice cone shaped spray..with no streams of fuel..
Next, push down slowly on the handle.. u should get a nice pop, pop, pop..
That means the pintle (center of nozzle) is seating properly..
Next, open the knob a turn or 2..and slowly push down on the handle & check the opening press.. it’ll pop open when it reaches the o.p.
Once u determine the opening press. & compare it to the inj. specification..
Raise the pressure on the gauge to 200psi BELOW the o.p. to look for any droplets of fuel..(for 5-10 seconds) THATS your leak-down test..
DO NOT GET ANY BODY PARTS NEAR THE SPRAY.!!!
IT WILL PENETRATE YOUR SKIN.!!! & YOU’LL GET BLOOD POISONING..
THIS IS NOT A TOY..
hey, this isn't really relevant, but I don't know how to direct message you and I have a ym 146 and I was wondering if you know how to turn the fuel pump up. many people have mentioned you.The inj that’s pictured avg. $65.00 each + 4.00 for the inlet and return gskts.

The engine ran, but had a terrible knock on one cylinder and I got a full refund.
Waste of time...
Oh well. now I know why they were so cheap!
I had the original injectors rebuilt at a local Diesel shop and all is well.
