Kubota L3000DT
I have a Kubota L3000DT that has R1 (ag) tires. Daughter bought a 5 acre place that about 3 acres is rough pasture with a few locust trees on it. Putting grazing animals on it is not an option.

Would swapping the R1's for R4's be a good option? If so, what size R4's does the L3000DT take?

Thanks.

You do realize that you will need rims also?Pretty expensive. We have a L3000Dt with R1's and never had a flat.May be cheaper to foam the tires if you are that worried.

I have a similar dilemma with my CUT (9.5R3 x 18)
Many attempts to locate tires have failed.
So far any foam sources have failed to respond to enquiries.

(I wonder why firms have web sites with contact links and never respond.)

R-1's would seem to be the ideal choice for a rough pasture situation. Why would you want to go to R-4's? Because R-4's will probably load up and not provide the needed traction - they could actually cause more damage than R-1's.

If you could even find the needed rims & tires - - the cost will be overly excessive. Stick with R-1's.

Another vote for R1’s. They are great tires for off-pavement work.
R4s best application is loader work on pavement

The only other option in your case, would be to change to R1 Radials. Either that or stick with the R1 you have now.

Check with Ag Wheels Express, they may have a set of factory take off tires and wheels or just a set of wheels.

I had the same thorny pasture issue, and running R-1s. Dealer said to only mow it when the ground is firm. The tall lugs keep the tender carcass further off the ground. It's probably not foolproof but neither are R-4s.
