I have a ford 4630 which has run well over the past 10 years. I changed the oil in nov. 2011 and filled it to the top of the dip stick mark. Started the engine and let it wet the new filters etc, stopped it and let it sit for a while and rechecked the level and all was good. The next week I went to use it and the level was 1 inch above the full mark. The oil looks good not water in it etc. but the engine now blows white smoke. Drained out almost a gallon of oil to put it to the right level, one week later again above the mark. Is it possible the fuel pump is leaking diesel into the oil? or is it some other place it is leaking diesel into the oil?

If the oil is not milky, then it should not be water or coolant. Does the oil smell like diesel??
Also, gotta ask, are there any of your buddies pulling a "prank" on you?

It's coming from somewhere. (I know, that's just over-stating the obvious)
If it were coolant, the oil should have a milky appearance. Since it does not, (you said) I would bet on diesel fuel. IIRC, the 4630 does have a mechanical "lift pump" that just pressurizes the fuel going to the injector pump. That would be the first place to look. If the diaphram is leaking, that would allow fuel, under pressure, to go directly into the crankcase. It could account for your increase in oil level.

Id put money on the injector or fuel pump leaking into the crankcase. Which would depend upon gas or deisel, but i assume its deisel. I just skimmed all the posts here though did not read all of any of them.

if it's not drinking hyd oil from an engine mounted pump I'd be inclined to think it was diesel.

Yep, either hydro oil from a pump seal or a injector/pump issue.

Its fairly common for those mechanical fuel lift pumps to do that. Ive had a couple leak into the crankcase over the last 10 yrs or so. Although its possible it could be your injector pump, just not as likely.
