changed oil for the first time on this tractor. Filter is buried. Did not have the slip on the end oil filter socket, so ruined the end cause I had to punch holes in it cause it was so tight. Anyone know what size oil filter socket wrench the 3005 has on it? Was in Advance Auto the other day and there are quite a few different sizes. thanks

When you get the new filter, measure it for wrench fit.

I put the new one on and hand tightened it. Got to check it out before I do any running. don't leak as of this post

What I do is loosen and take out the bolts holding the fuel filter that is just ahead of the oil filter. Then let the fuel filter hang out of the way. After that it is real easy to grasp the oil filter and spin it off.

i hand tightened mine with a piece of sand paper for grip.

you should only hand tighten oil filters anyways. there not under that much pressure. The original filters are painted on and that's why there so **** hard to remove.

most oil filters say screw on till the rubber gasket makes contact, then 3/4 more turn. Ive never needed a wrench to do that, and have never had any leaks at the filter.
