Changing Motor mounts on '76 1650 Need advice!!

I have a 1976 1650 cadet, and noticed it was sounding a little different then ususal. Looking into it, if found the lower rubber mounts were practiclly gone, and the motor was up against the frame. I rebuilt the motor in 2006, but used the old mounts. Got new mounts today, but not sure if I have to pull the motor to install, or can I just remove the bolts from the old mounts, jack the motor up, and then replace the mounts? Any suggestions would be appreciated since I want to do this in the next few days. Also, any idea where I could get a service manual for this tractor. I have a Kohler engine manual, but not the actual tractor manual. Appreciate any help.

Hey Ollie, I just picked up my 1650 today, but I've been reading about them for a few weeks. One thing I'd definitely recommend is looking at the ISO mount modification that is so popular. It'll increase the longevity of your motor mounts, see here

And OldMachinist - Awesome, thank you! I was just looking for one online, everyone's trying to sell them for $10-$20, a PDF file they copied from someone else. I stumbled across this thread while googling.

I'm pretty sure I downloaded the manual directly from MTD. I've seen a lot people selling manuals that are available free from the manufacturer.

I was able to download the owners manual from MTD, but it says the service manual is not available online.

Also found the parts manual in PDF, but it appears to be specific to the 1250. Closest thing I've been able to find so far.
