I did do the tach adjustment a couple of days ago. Turned the sensor in until it touched the flywheel and then backed it out about 1 turn, I noticed a more stable reading and it responds to the throttle alot better. I recommend all Kama owners adjust theirs, mine was out about 5 turns! I also thought about the throttle linkage also, im gonna get my wife to hold the pedal wide open while I check to see if there is any more throttle left at the injector pump.

Where did you buy your tractor?
I'm going to run about 5 more hrs to 30 then chg oil, fuel filter, and check those pesky valves everyone keeps talking about, lol. I want to tractor to outlast me!!!

OK I own a 2004 TS354C with a loader. I have about 130 hours on it. I have torque the head bolts and adjusted the valves at 50 hours. They were not too far off. I had a rag and rust in the fuel tank in the beginning but after those problems were resolved this tractor has been very good to me. I do not have a tach on my machine. This tractor runs a 5 foot rough cut mower in very tall grass with no problems. I replaced my chinese Chinese battery about 3 weeks ago after load testing it and wish I replaced it sooner. The new battery spins the engine much fast and it starts almost instantly. Be sure to check your steering cylinder mounting bolts. My steering cylinder got loose and started to leak and I think the stress on the seals is the cause of the leak. I love my Kama and my neighbor who is a New Holland is impress with it abilities. I love using this tractor. I hope you have as good or better luck with yours. Kidney

I got mine to rev to 2400 today. It was the throttle linkage. Still going to do the valve check in the near future though.
but dag nabbit I broke a tie rod end. and the radiator got clogged with debre from all the high weeds, got a little warm but was fine after I cleaned out the weed stuff.
Check those adjusters and make sure they stay tight. It worked way loose and put too much pressure on the ball and socket.

I run a cheap furnace filter (16x20 or 16x25 I think) in front of the radiator and clean and/or change it when needed. It works good and the radiator stays clean. If working in high weeds and the temp. starts to get too high just shut down the engine and shake the filter. Very little debris makes it to the radiator.
I use blue lock tight on any bolts that work loose. Also replace the lock washers on any bolts that work loose. Good luck. Kidney

Some one wanted more 354 owners to chime in. Well I'm one. Mine is a JM354. It's been a great little tractor. I put it together from a crate and was able to correct and tighten things as I went assembled it. I feel and I've posted on this subject before, one of major fuel system problems is that crappy quarter turn shut tank valve orginal part. I change out the valve strainer with a one quarter inch NPT needle valve and have good flow coming from that. I couldn't get but just a small dribble coming from the original. Now with that being said, I did remove tank and flushed thoughly so I started out clean. I've never had starting or power issues. If any one has power/starting/priming problems look at that little shut off valve. Caterpillar had a fuel cap on their machines years ago that said Buy clean fuel Keep it clean, been good advise for me. bjr
