A few weeks ago I finished putting together a bracket to mount my chainsaw on the box blade. I still need to add brackets to carry the fuel/oil and an axe, but there is room to do that. This is made from black-painted PT 1X6 deck boards with a reinforcing metal plate at the bottom (each side) where it is bolted to the BB.
So far it has worked really well and lets me keep my chainsaw handy when I'm working on trails in the woods.

Good idea, clean and out of the way-but look at that chunk of RR track ballast! Way cool!

Excellent idea! and plenty of room to accommodate saw accessories.

Looks neat -- I use 2" tubing mounted with conduit clamps to hold axes, picks, loppers etc. The gas can (I have one of those oils and gas combos) is in an old bicycle basket that fits it perfectly.

A bicycle basket (and bungee) would probably work great...I'll keep my eyes open during this spring's roadside cleanup days (when folks throw out all their unwanted junk...lots of bikes, barbecues, microwaves, CRTs...).
I added the railroad rail last year, and kind of wish I'd put in two of them. The retaining bracket for the rail still needs some work so the rail can't bounce out of place, but the extra weight is good.
I'm thinking of bolting a scabbard onto the outside of the feed chute on my chipper, too, so it will be easier to carry along the saw when I'm chipping 'way back in the woods.
Thanks for the comments.

That's a pretty nifty case I hadn't seen before.
I have a cab tractor and was struggling with how/where to mount a bracket to carry my chainsaw (carrying it in the FEL bucket or grapple rake doesn't work out well). Individual brackets on the BB and chipper will mean I have the saw available when I'm working on trails, since those are the implements I do that with.

I'm thinking of mounting this alternative
Chainsaw Case from ECHO | The Home Depot - Model 99988801207
fits my Stihl's, big and small, nicely
It looks exactly like my Husquvarna case sold seperatly at Lowe's (item #331392) for one penny less! Must be from the same manufacturer. Just to let you know how it works, with the top lid open via two plastic latches you then pull the front side wall down via two plastic friction points as it is hinged on the bottom and the saw is then removed from the front and the chain guard removed last.
I've read this before on other reviews and it has also happened to my case-the black velcro strap across the lower trigger guard that holds the saw in place while transporting has ripped out of one of the two attachment holes and is now factory useless-quite a funky connection to begin with. Look at the photo and just below the yellow sticker on the saw's trigger guard is the hole where one leg of the velcro was anchored.
Right down to and including the four hinge pins, there is no metal in the entire structure. It rides great to and from in the back of my truck but I have reservations about ever mounting it on my tractor as other outside stress forces would then be added to the case.
My saw and case have about two to three hours of use time.
