Chains on Tractor

   / Chains on Tractor #11
I have a Kubota 2650 with a front mount snow blower. Should I mount chains only on the rear or on all 4 wheels?
You SHOULD chain all 4. However chaining 2 gets the job done some, maybe even most of the time. It changes effective tire diameters. But the fronts usually swing 5% faster than rears on tractors anyway. More load on the front axle & drivetrain, which is weaker. But then less traction, even with chains, means less force on that drivetrain.

My L3200 with R4s couldn't fit rear chains without spacers. Never got spacers & only ran front chains. Not ideal, but enough to not bother with getting rear chains or spacers. Similar for my new L4060. I got front chains & they are good enough. Haven't even checked to see if there is clearance with my adjustable R4s set at 72". Fronts only are OK enough to not bother with heavy expensive rear chains, even if they fit.
