Thanks for the supportive response to my announcement of my new purchase. Now that I have to wait a few weeks for my new L3000 I'd love to get the owners manual to read in advance. Any body know where I can get one on-line? I also have a set of tractor chains, H pattern w/cross links, that fit 12.4 X 28 R1s that I'd like to cut down to use on the 11.2 X 24 R1s that will be on my new unit. Cutting off the extra length is no problem. Shortening the widths will be a big chore. Do you think I might get into problems wraping these extra wide chains around the thinner new tires ? If so I'll probably have to sell them and buy a set sized for the smaller tires. Just wondering if others have tried oversized chains before. JD

Jimbo - I wouldn't cut them down. The size difference is not that big - they'll wrap over a little and you'll need to put in some bolts or links to bind the overlap - but tractor chains don't have to be all that perfect. Especially with your wheels set out wide, they'll be fine.

I inherited a set of chains from a big Bennatti loader once, rubber was huge - I used 'em on 13.9x28 with three or four cross-chains overlapped - no problem. A few years later I got a bigger tractor - was glad I hadn't cut them down.

Jimbo, Your dealer should be able to give you a manual. Kubota doesn't seem to have much documentation online (at least i haven't found it!)
