I am using a chain and chain hooks on my FEL to carry brush and stumps to the burn pile. I have a 20ft 5/16ths chain that I need to carry with me and am wondering what others in similar situations do to safely and conveniently store the chain on the tractor. Any ideas? I have attached photos of the two not very satisfactory options I have come up with so far.

That's nice. I've always wrapped mine around the brush guard.

Steve, nice setup. Like to have that on mine.

I use a small plastic bucket, think it might have had like 1/2 gallon of paint. It will hold (just barely) my 25' chain. The bucket fits neatly and firmly under the 3PH arm and between the right fender. Convenient in that if I need to take it, I just take bucket and all, also pretty cool in that I can just spray a little WD40 in the bucket to keep it from rusting - BUT - I would much rather have any of the setups (brush guard & boxes) shown in the thread.

I also thought about the brush guard but my chain is 20ft long and it would likely bunch up and interfere with the FEL or, as you have done, I would need to walk under the raised FEL to get at it which I would rather not do.

That might work for a tractor without a backhoe but my tractor has a very tight squeeze between the two seats as the fuel tank is located exactly where your ammo box is positioned.

Still looking for a quick and easy solution. Steve's looks best so far but I don't have the equipment (yet) or skill (?ever) to make one.

I ran into this problem over the weekend. I just left the chain attached to the drawbar and drug it to the the next log. The chain gets pretty muddy that way though. I would do a general search for chain storage. I have seen some Kubotas on here with a piece of PVC pipe attached to the loader cross arm to store the chain. It looks like you have a BH so why not throw it in the bucket?
