that's really nice the way you attached that to the quick hitch. I did a scabbard setup on my zero turn for my 455 rancher and it ever so slightly bent my bar, which caused it to start throwing the chain, I ended up replacing the bar and it went away but I don't have the engine unsupported anymore. Keep your eye on it, it could be I brushed something but be aware. Bruce

Bruce,

I was kinda worried about that too. I've used that scabbard for 8 years on two different tractors and never had a problem. I probably just jinxed myself!!! I can see where it could happen, especially if a tree limb caught the saw handle or got between the ROPS and the saw.

Very nice what make is your quick hitch? I really need to get one

Dave,

I have no idea. It's an OLD QH that my Brother gave me. For us guys with CAT II equipment, it comes in very handy. No more wrestling around trying to hook/unhook. I'm also spoiled with TnT. I pay little attention to where I sit down a piece of equipment. I can always get hooked back up. I highly recommend both additions, QH and TnT.

You answered a question I have had for some time about using a scabbard to carry a chainsaw. I suspected that it would be a bad idea without supporting the entire saw.

I would agree that a scabbard that supports the entire saw would be better. If you build something that does please post pics!!! :)

Super nice !! Great Job .

And I can relate to your comment about metal building skills versus wood building skills . :D For buildings , etc.. , I do O.K. with wood but smaller stuff , Forget it .

Me too Fred. I think it has to do with patience, or a lack of it... :)

that is really nice how you set that up, and being removable is a bonus! great work.

Thanks I'm interested in a QH especially since I'm hoping to pick up a Gannon box scrapper this year. The only thing I have that's not QH cat 2 compatible is my split fire log splitter which I'm thinking I can fix in an hour or 2

I know land pride makes a nice one. Not sure if the speeco is made here or in china like the crappy log splitter I returned had but I'll pass on them.

Dave,

I've got an old LP Box Blade, which is actually a Gannon BB Hydraulic raised scarifier. 84". It's a beast. You can't beat em. Getcha one. You'll get a lot of use out of it.

I have had scabbard on my atv's for years but the rack supports the saw body. I made a quick one for the tractor a few months ago that also supports the body well... will try to get pictures for y'all later today. Eventually I will make one out of a combo of metal and wood as I have decent skills working with both. Metal frame with wood bar/chain guard.

Here are some pics of my prototype... stole the bar guard off one of the atvs, and 20 minutes later had this on the tractor. I do not like the placement as it blocks rear view too much. Future version will be mounted elsewhere.

Close up of bar holder and block for body support

Here's what it looks like without the saw
