I'm in central Vermont. With a snow blower on the back, the front end is a bit light and doesn't grip very well, hence the front chains. This is only my second season with them, but I was loving them last winter.

Great post, and thanks for showing how you put it together. I had such a scabbard on my job years ago, and have thought about making one on that order to mount on the tractor.
Your pics and posts should get me off dead center now, as I am anxious to make one or two after seeing yours.
Thanks again.

Gotta love them orange chain saws, they go very well with an orange tractor.

Putting the finishing touches on a scabbard for carrying my saw on the tractor. Going to clamp it to the ROPS as I don't have an easy place on the FEL frame. Thinking it will work okay, and will be easy to slip the saw in and back out if over the left rear wheel. Will post pics when I finish it (maybe tomorrow). Thanks for the idea and the pattern.

Near finished with the project, thanks to Hayden.

I mounted the carrier to the ROPS but need to consider that now I cannot get into the 'compartment' on the left fender to get the garage door openers and limited tools. I may throw a hinge on the scabbard and may just find a spot for the openers too.

A shot with the chainsaw entering the scabbard.

And a shot with the saw firmly slipped in place. It's good and solid and easily accessible from the rear of the tractor where it will be used in logging wood.

Nice job, the orange clashes with the green though. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Thanks, I think I am going to like having a place to stow the saw as well as have it along when working about in the woods.

You got that right, but the color is only skin deep, and it's whats underneath the paint that counts. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Very nice. Any risk of it sliding out when climbing a steep hill? I've got some nasty ones here.
