I want to mount 3 bolt-on chain hooks on my FEL, but can't find any. Have found only bolt-on tow hooks at 4wd supply places, but they're no good for chain. Even if I weld some hooks on, they're not configured for where they have to go, on the top of the bucket. Any advice?

Wasn't my idea, but in a post here I saw that guys had welded chunks of angle iron to the top lip and back of the bucket, making a nice flat surface on which to weld or bolt your hooks. That's what I did--welded about six inches of 2 x 2 quarter inch thick angle to the bucket.

Best wishes,
Ron

My father-in-law has been a union welder for 30 years and does a lot of work on farm and construction equipment. He welded a 3/8 steel plate to the top of my FEL and then welded a 3/8 grab hook to that. You can find the weldable hooks through most tractor dealers or welding outfitters. This setup has worked very well for me pulling stumps/rocks and lifting my box blade out of the freight truck.
