Century 2535 ROPS Question

I took delivery of my new Century 2535 Friday.

I noticed that the ROPS was not mounted correctly, (I don't think.) On the left side the bolt was in the bottom hole and the pin was in the second hole from the bottom. On the right side the pin was in the bottom hole and the bolt was in the second hole. Also on the left the bolt had a flat washer and a lock washer. On the right side it had a flat washer only.

I changed the right side to match the left side, but I could still not get the ROPS to fold down. I loosened the bolts some and it still would not fold. It is supposed to fold isn't it?

I couldn't even find a picture of it in the manual to see how it should be mounted.

On the bolt holes the middle bolt hole is the pivot point, so in order to lower the roll bar you need to take out the bottom bolt. (Doing this from memory but pretty sure it is right /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif) You need to loosen the middle bolts to allow the roll bar to move. Mine did not have pins but rather 4 bolts, wish it did have pins though.. The bolt should be in the middle hole and the pins will go in the bottom hole so that they can be easily pulled and lower the bar, the pins will then go in the top hole that will now line up with the back hole to hold the roll bar in the down position.

The first time you go to let down the roll bar it will be pretty hard, at least mine was. I really had to put some oommph into it to get it to go the first time.

Thanks a lot. That makes sense, now that you explain it. I think that it wouldn't fold because it was hitting the edge of the sleeve in the number 2 hole. Number 3 hole did not have a sleeve, so that's where the pin goes when it is down, just as you described.
