I think it looks pretty good. But I do prefer the look of the cedar poles with the bark still on.

Yeah it'll be a while before they turn gray, but I had no choice, most of the bark came off on the sawmill. The uprights still have most of their bark

Here are some whole cedar logs we used as pillars when we remodeled our house. It's been about 2 years now and the skin has held on better than I thought it would, I kinda figured it would dry up and peel off.
