OK, what is exactly wrong with the Troybilt Procut 320. This is the basic unit sold also as a Cub Cadet SC621. They both look remarkably similar to the JD?Scotts unit I have seen a Home Depot. I think they are all the same with some minor specification differences like the CC has a 6 speed trany and the Troybilt has a 3 speed and the former has a Briggs Industrial Plus engine and the later a Intek. Has anyone used these and what you think of them and why exactly would these be considered junk or non-premium. They look darn nice to me and my 22 yo Lawnboy is on it's last whirl I fear. I think these things all come out of the same facrtory and like Easter eggs some get dipped in yellow or red or green but there ain't a hill of beans difference. Also, other than they are big and keeping buying dying companies to get mileage out of their good name what is exactly so bad about MTD? J

In my humble but well thought out opinion all mower manufacturers produce both good and bad products (sometimes thought to be determined by the day of the week produced but this has never been satisfactorily proven).
Then just to keep life interesting the Garden Tractor Devil has arranged things so that the meek and mild folks get the good machines and the loud and opinionated folks get the bad machines.
This distribution plan has nothing at all to do with ones net worth, marital status, or political party affiliation (although Republicans, being the more meek and mild, seem to get a higher percentage of the good ones).

By the way my opinion is not based on the actual use of newer homeowner class lawn or garden tractors since, although I have nine garden tractors around (most run sometimes) the newest is a 1973 Sears Suburban 12 repowered with a Kohler M16S engine and not a one of them has a functional mower deck (a fact not missed by my youngest son who is allowed to mow the yard with a 1971 Snapper 20" pushmower).
