Anyone know of an effective treatment for warbles on a cow? I just noticed a few of them on the back of one of my cows and everything I read says to squeeze them out, kill them and disinfect the hole. I can't squeeze them out though.

I haven't had any cattle here for 20 plus years but if my memory hasn't failed me I'd use some ivomec to treat them. Read the whole literature because at a certain time of the growth stage they can be in the back bone area and killing them then could cause paralysis in the animal. All this advice is from memory, a vet would be the best choice to ask for advise.

It's been years since I had livestock, but I recall ivomec was effective against them. Check it out.

Folks called them wolves when I was a kid, and yes, we've squeezed them out, but I guess it's been more than 55 years since I had any experience with that.
