Tractor
JD 4300 MFWD
The other day I started up the JD4300 out in the barn, and let it idle to warm up for a bit. I stepped outside to do something, and when I came back I found one of our cats sitting on the seat, with one paw on the wheel and the other on the shuttle shift lever! It's a good thing he couldn't reach the clutch pedal! /w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif

All the other cats head for the hills when this thing starts up, but this one cat is fearless and alarmingly bright. I think I'll have to hide the keys from now on!/w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif

Bob,

You REALLY need to get a picture of that! /w3tcompact/icons/eyes.gif

Maybe the cat likes the 4300 because it's so puuurrrtttyyy./w3tcompact/icons/crazy.gif

Or maybe the cat thinks the 4300 is the cat's meow/w3tcompact/icons/crazy.gif/w3tcompact/icons/crazy.gif/w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif

Reminds me of the time back in December that I found a pile of cat crap on the seat of my John Deere. I'm still not sure which cat did it but I have'nt forgotten. Sooner or later he or she will slip-up and I'll be waiting./w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif/w3tcompact/icons/hmm.gif/w3tcompact/icons/mad.gif

I live on the edge of some woods and I have had a new seat ripped up by some animal. I now flip the seats up on the steering wheel and I haven't had any problems since.

We always find little muddy kitty paw prints all over the cars and the tractor. We're pretty sure we know who the culprit is, but we're awaiting positive FBI pawprint analysis. /w3tcompact/icons/mad.gif

Sounds like a <font color=red>cat<font color=black>astrophe to me, a feline felony!

Mrwurm

Sounds like you need a <font color=blue>cat<font color=black>apult /w3tcompact/icons/tongue.gif to deal with C.C.O.M.T (cats crapping on my tractor). /w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif

A while back we had three cats and one of them was crapping on my garage floor. I locked-up two in a cage each night till I figured out which one was doing it....
Now, where did that cat go? /w3tcompact/icons/hmm.gif

I had a tractor buddy today, my one cat decided to hop up on the backhoe seat. She layed there the whole time I was back-filling a culvert. She didn't get off until I stopped the tractor to do some hand filling with the shovel.

Ed,

She probably thought your LandTrac was a mother cat purring. They're incredible creatures, these cats.

The same cat likes to get in the truck with me when I drive around the farm. I have to admit, when I was younger, I didn't like cats at all. Now that I have my own though, I can see why people like them. I like their independant mind set. They are more a friend than a pet. I hate to admit it, but I have seven now, 5 inside, and 2 outside.

OK, found three big raccoons in my garage this morning. My wife leaves the door open a bit so the cats can come and go. Turns out raccoons are visiting as well. They knocked a bunch of stuff off the shelves and ate all the cat food. Maybe they ate some cats too? I did'nt see any cats. I guess they got 'run out of town' by the bandits.

jhburke-

Porcupines will eat anything that smells like salt - tool handles, steering wheels, shoes and boots, even rubber. Be sure to check that seat if you ever hop in very early in the morning /w3tcompact/icons/shocked.gif

We have a couple of racoons that my wife has *named* and regularly buys dog food for. Despite all my warnings about bad things that can come from treating wild like domestic, she persists. Well, these guys come in the cat door every once in a while. We have four cats, and three of the four - when they know the 'coons are around, will take up posts just inside the cat door and hiss, growl, and bap a 'coon trying to get in. Fearless critters, those cats.
