Caterpillar D 4 1940's vintage purchase

I have a lead on a D 4 which is a 1940's vintage. Owner claims that pony and engine is decent, but that right steering clutch is in stuck position. Wants $3900. I have read that this repair is not to bad on a older D4. Your thoughts.

Is is a dozer and what if any implements?

Have friend that still dics his grandfather's old orchard every year with the same vintage Cat towing a heavy disc... does a great job.

It is a dozer with no implements.

Dozers can be useful at anysize or age...

Modern have 6 way blades which really make them versatile... lots of work has been down with the old straight blades too.
