CAT mulching machine

Anyone seen the new Cat Mulching machine that goes into production in May? Supposed to be 350 hp, articulated loader looking carrier with a lot of goodies for comfort.

It's got me thinking..

I think there is a sleeper cab in the arse-end.
I'm impressed with the specs and we already know CAT builds one heck of an articulated loader. One of the smoothest machines I ever operated was a 928.
With CAT service available just about everywhere, I may rethink getting into larger machines.

I have watched those things work on my ranch. I don't think there is any practical limit to the size tree they can handle. I watched one working on the smaller stuff around some large oak trees. After he had everything cleared except the big oaks, he put the mulcher head as high as it would go and chewed thru the first tree. Then he just slowly lowered the head chewing up the trunk of the tree. This tree was at least 24" in diameter and about 30' tall. He turned the whole tree into mulch in about three minutes. I hired one to clear a field of mesquite re-growth. He told me he got $350/hr from the oil co.'s but would work for me for $250/hr since the machine was already on-site. He cleared almost 20 acres in 8 hours. Not as good as root-plowing, but at east now I can handle the regrowth with my shredder.

Where does a guy get work with one of these units? I have been looking into all kinds of mulching machines this one is so pricy I would need a lot of work to keep it going im in Northern Ont Canada with only one park project about 1000 hectres to clean up after that where could I get work with it?? There is a lot of mining activity in the area should I be approaching these companies and see if they need something like this or hwy road matinence ? I am looking for a career change I have a fused ankle cant do drywall anymore been thinking getting into equipment to get off my feet I used to operated skidders long time ago for logging companies so I am familiar with bigger machines, any replies are very welcome...

Texas that's the only place those serve a purpose. Up here you need tracks plain and simple. I had a Tigercat M760 and I sunk it more times than I care to remember. If you need help with that 1000 hectares give me a call I'm next door to you. And I have some machines for sale if you want to do it your self lol.
