Cat D3B Issue

Hello everyone! New to the site and I have a question regarding a D3B. The dozer is my cousin's and we were clearing land for a food plot when the universal went out. No biggie we thought, swapped it out and now, nothing. Finally got it moving forward today but absolutely no power when the blade is on the ground, and reverse works intermittently. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated because I know very very little about this gear.

It does not sound logical to me . I don't think something happened after you installed the new UJ , I think something happened before that broke the UJ in the first place . Something has overloaded the drive line and the engine torque has broken the UJ and the cause has not been found . Have you been pushing in clay ? Clay often gets packed into the track chain where the sprocket runs . This makes the tracks very tight and also what happens is the sprockets ride up on this packed in clay and the teeth on the sprockets come down on the bushes in the track chain which locks the drive train up .
