Case jx 80 running rough

Good Day

I have a Case JX80 tractor cab, fwd with FEL. While cutting hay it starts to run rough and emits blue or gray smoke from exhaust, fumes from smoke smell really bad and its wants to heat up more than usual. Where should I start looking to find the problems?

Blue smoke usually indicates oil getting past the valve guide seals. Running rough is a fuel issue. Have you changed your fuel filter? Do that first, then let us know how it runs.
Could be an injection pump issue, but do the cheap & easy stuff first.

I've seen a JX 95 that acted like it was running out of fuel, had the cab sitting on and pinching the fuel line that caused the problem.
