Case IH 275 Starter selonid

Hi
Can any one recommend a replacement selonid for the starter motor? Case wants $250.00 for one.Case part # 1962785c1, It is a bit steep in my book. I went to NAPA but they could not help.
Any suggestions?

Post on the Mitsubishi forum. The 275 is a Mitsu and someone there will know about a possible parts interchange.

Have you found any good info on this? I replaced the selenoid in my 275 with one that a local repair guy (alternators and things like that) found. It says on the selenoid that the part number is 7-784/66-8331 and it seems to be made in Brazil by WAI ZMS.A
Not sure if you can find anything with those numbers but it cost around 50.00, I also didn't want to pay the 250 that case wanted. If you don't have any luck with that try contacting a local business that repairs alternators and things like that.
Not sure if this would help, but I replaced my selenoid because I the starter wouldn't engage, I would just keep getting that "click" sound, after I replaced the selenoid it still happened, turned out it was the safety switch on the range selector, if I didn't push that all the way into Nuetral it wouldn't start. Might be something to check if you haven't already. After that I was glad i didn't buy the 250 dollar one. Hope that helps.

I had the same luck after replaceing the selonid. I jumped out the range selector switch. Same thing. It might be the PTO saftey switch I Just found it. Did you have any luck finding a aftermarket saftey switch case # 1271754C1?
I think Case dose not want to keep there customer base as there parts are very costly. Cannot find any gold on the parts

It actually turned out that there was just some lose wiring for my safety switch, once I cleaned up the connections and tightened it all back up I haven't had any problems since.....yet that is.....so no I hadn't looked for the switch.

Good luck and please post your findings. Im having the same trouble with my 244. Replaced the solenoid and still problems. Im going to start cleaning connections tomorrow. Thanks.

Just replaced starter and am troubleshooting some other stuff on my 244. I got great service and price from Nations alternator. BTW what type of oil is recomended for IH 244?
