Case DX45/NH TC45DA Cab Roof

Hello,

I recently purchased a 2007 Case DX45 with factory cab. After doing some deep cleaning on the tractor I noticed that it appears the roof has been taken or torn off at some point. I notice a couple different kinds of silicone and adhesive around where the roof sits on the frame of the cab. Also, the front of the roof is able to be lifted off. It doesn't appear that there are any signs of water intrusion on the inside of the tractor at all, but I don't like knowing that the front of the roof can lift up. I wasn't sure how they were supposed to attach to the frame of the cab and if anyone had come across a similar issue. I'm also getting ready to do a service of all of the fluids and filters and also fix some other miscellaneous items. I'm hoping to be able to find some good advice from the members around here. This forum has already been a great help in getting me this far. Thanks for all of the help.

The roof is bonded to the frame with a beta seal (basically a super strength epoxy). If applied correctly, it will never turn loose. Since only the front of the cab is loose, something must have happened during the assembly of the roof which affected the bond.

If the rear is still bonded good, I dough you will ever have and problem with the roof coming off. You could try bond it back with some regular epoxy.

Thank you! That is what I will try to do. I just wanted to make sure that there wasn't some other sort of mechanical connection. A friend of mine owns an autobody repair business and has some good epoxy we can try. Do I need to pay extra attention to where the roof goes around the sky light and make sure that is sealed well to protect it from water intrusion, or is the epoxy mainly just used to attach the roof?
