Case 580K King Pin replacement cost (?) / advice

Does anyone have experience replacing king pins on a 580K four wheel drive? I noticed too late that my right lower pin was worn and sloppy and found that it has damaged the axle housing it pivots on. I will try to post pictures. The U joints have a lot of play and wear also. My big concern is the axle housing. Local Case dealer thinks (without seeing) it may be able to be welded/ machined by a good fabricator. Axle housing for a similar repair the dealer remembered was $8,000 for the axle housing (part only). King pin and joint replacement job they guesstimate on phone $3-4K. Any advice or experience would be helpful please. Thank you very much.
