Case 580ck clutch issues.

I am having problems trying to get the shifter in gear. I can press the clutch all the way and it still grinds until I back off the rpms of the motor real low where it almost dies then I can put it in any gear also the hydraulic gauge never goes down to 0psi is it supost to? any ideas
This is a 580ck shuttle with torque converter.

I have a 580CK with the same problem. There is supposed to be a detent ball on the shuttle spool valve that puts it exactly in the neutral position. I suspect you have worn the spool or the spring behind the ball is weak thus you're not exactly in neutral. Moving the shuttle lever as little as 1/4" can make the difference. This is in the hydraulic block just ahead of the steering column on top of the shuttle housing. Do you have a parts manual? If you can find one the picture is pretty self explainatory. MikeD74T

I dont have a parts book or a service manual YET. Im going to get one off ebay the cd. I hope its good. I will do some more messing with it. Ill let ya know how it works out.
